CEADs Team Associate Professor Yin Long Is Recruiting 2023 PhD Students through the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo

Eligibility

1. Applicants should hold a master degree in a field related to the laboratory research background, such as environmental economics, data science, climate economics, geographic information science, or another relevant discipline. After completing the doctoral program and successfully defending the dissertation, students will be awarded a Doctor of Engineering degree.

2. In principle, applicants should have a TOEFL score of 95 or above, or an equivalent level of English proficiency. This requirement may be relaxed for applicants with outstanding research achievements. Japanese language proficiency is not required.

3. Applicants should have experience publishing in SCI-indexed English journals. Students proficient in at least one programming language will be given priority.

4. The official application deadline is December 6, 2022. Early application is recommended.

Supervisor Profile

Associate Professor Yin Long

Yin Long is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. He is an Excellent Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and an Excellent Researcher at The University of Tokyo. He received his PhD in Environmental Studies from The University of Tokyo in 2019. He previously worked at the National Institute for Environmental Studies in Japan, Tokyo University of Science, and other research institutions. Over the past five years, he has published more than 60 SCI/SSCI-indexed papers in journals including One Earth, a Cell Press journal, and Nature Climate Change, a Nature Portfolio journal. He has twice received MEXT government funding awards from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. In 2018, he received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad. In 2022, the laboratory received support from the JSPS Excellent Young Researcher program and the Faculty of Engineering Start Up Fund.
