CEADs Member Dr. Zhifu Mi Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe List

Recently, Forbes magazine announced its 2019 Europe "30 Under 30" list. CEADs member Dr. Zhifu Mi was named to the "Science & Healthcare" list. The list recognizes 30 outstanding people under the age of 30 in each of 10 fields, including business, finance, sports, technology, and academia. Dr. Mi was the only Chinese honoree on this year's Europe list.

Forbes wrote of Dr. Mi's achievements: "He is dedicated to research on the economics of climate change and explores fairer and more effective approaches to climate change mitigation. He combines regional trade with carbon emissions, with a particular focus on analyzing China's carbon dioxide emissions."

Dr. Zhifu Mi currently works at the Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management, University College London (UCL). He is an associate editor of the SCI journal Journal of Cleaner Production (impact factor 5.651) and the SSCI journal Structural Change and Economic Dynamics (impact factor 1.542). He received his bachelor's degree from the School of Mathematics, Shandong University, and his PhD from the School of Management and Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professor Yiming Wei, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of East Anglia. His research focuses on climate change economics and energy policy. He has published more than 40 SCI/SSCI papers in journals including Science Advances, Nature Geoscience, and Nature Communications, including 6 ESI hot papers and 13 ESI highly cited papers. His honors include the 2018 World Sustainability Award, the 2017 China's 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers recognition, the 2016 Applied Energy Highly Cited Original Paper Award, and the 2017 Environmental Research Letters Best Early Career Scholar Paper Award. He was invited by Oxford University Press to write a review article on integrated assessment models for climate change and has been invited many times to attend the United Nations Sustainable Development Conference and United Nations climate change conferences.
